I am looking to buy a DH bike and I have found an ad for a Scott gambler. The lower fork tube (not the stancions) has a dent in the lower half smaller than a dime. I’m wondering if it will affect anything. Thanks

depends on the severity of the dent but more than likely there will be no affect. Good thing is it's just the Fork and Forks can be replaced... and fork legs

Providing the dent is not in the same position as the lower internal bushing,
and its not a dent that would impede the internals in the compression, rebound
stroke, then it can be fine.

Ive run forks with minor dents in the lowers with no issues.

I would advise checking the forks over before you buy to be sure there is no
issue.

I've bought 2nd hand frames, Forks and many components, and have
come to the conclusion that most folk are clueless to the real condition of what they are
selling, even the competency of there bike maintenance leaves a lot to be desired
in a lot of cases.
