I rode 550lb dhx2 on my 134…. Probably could’ve went with a 600lb tho. I’m 198 without kit!

Had a 150 lyrik on the front! Should’ve never gotten rid of that bike!

Does anyone happen to know the torque specs for the rear linkage assembly, was going to double check everything was snug but then realized I didn't have the specs to torque things down to.

Anyone convert their 27.5 to a 29er?? Or mullet?? I love my 134al, but am itching for 29er!! Guess I could just find a new 134??

I mulleted my 2020 27.5 this summer. I feel like it was an already capable bike, but i noticed a difference pounding through chunk, and It was a lot more confident pointed down hill. It just tracked better, but this could be caused by the HTA change more so than the 29er front. With a 140 fork, it put it around 64.5deg. You can feel it a bit more on the climbs with the STA being moved back. After the mullet, I changed 2 things, I got a 50mm stem up from 33mm ( It was a bit cramped ), and moved my seat all the way forward to try and offset the seat angle a bit.. it helped but its still apparent

I'm thinking of building up a 134 CR frame as a lighter trail bike. Has anyone ran an angle set on this frame or a 44mm offset fork? With a 44mm offset fork and -1 degree angleset I think the bike would retain it's handling properties while gaining some confidence descending steep trails. I guess another options is to do a 150 fork with 44mm offset. That is going to slacken the seat tube more though which I wouldn't really want.

I have tried a 150mm fork 44 offset. I preferred it for downhill and set some of my fastest times, but missed the snappier handling of the 51mm fork for climbs. More wheel flop noticed when climbing and seat angle not as good for climbing.

I also tried the same fork with a 1 degree angle headset and had similar results. Reach was a bit longer, stack lower than the other set up. Ultimately though I missed the lively snappy handling of the 140mm 51mm fork. The bike climbs so much better for some reason with it.

In my opinion the best fork for all around trail riding is a 51mm offset 140mm travel but if all you got is 44mm offset it should work. I wouldn't bother messing with angle adjust, and would run it at 140mm travel. With the short chainstaysnit is hard to keep weight centered when climbing if you overfork it.

Just picked up a 2019 134 SE. What are the moves with this bike? I know a lot of guys liked to upgrade the brakes and the fork? Any other suggestions from guys who rode the older design 134?

That's about it, maybe upgrade to 11 speed if the granny gear isn't big enough for you. Merlin cycles has a sale on Shimano disc brakes and there are a ton of sales on 27.5 forks.

Do make sure to ride the piss out of it prior to pulling the trigger just to make sure you need the upgrades. Really only needed if you're flogging it.

I have a 150mm Marzzochi Z1 with a 44mm offset on my 2022 134 CR and it's amazing, no need for an angle set at all.
