Backcountry.com has gone on a trademark troll rampage and is suing a number of mom and pop shops and non-profits that use words like "backcountry" and "goat" in their branding, even if they have nothing to do with outdoor gear. The same firm owns Canyon and Competitive Cyclist

List of companies at least partially owned by the capitalist equity firm that's doing this:

and for at least now, get your gear elsewhere.

Just a correction here it only owns a minority part of Canyon US, not the rest of Canyon.

It's not good news when companies claim English words as legally theirs when they have been around before the company existed.

Thanks for the clarification. Why we are so mad is that it's such a common word, long before they existed. It's not Pepsi.

I do feel it's still valuable to boycott any company on the list because ultimately that still affect's TSG's revenue stream and they have power to make Backcountry.com stop, since they own all of that one.

Already decided I'm never buying from them or anything else they own again. Even if they drop the lawsuits now they already showed their true character.

Same goes for Specialized with the Café Roubaix lawsuit.
