I've got an early 2019 or maybe late 2018 Stumpy that's an 11-spd Shimano (before they started using the NX/GX SRAM 12-spd drivetrains). At any rate, after the glowing reviews of the XT 12-spd group, I'm thinking of swapping out the cassette, free hub body, derailleur, chain, and shifter to go 12-spd.

I pulled off the free hub body yesterday and confirmed it's a DT Swiss 3-pawl hub/driver. The DT Swiss 3-pawl conversion body should do the trick, but I'm wondering about the end caps. It comes with press-on end caps and mine are threaded (at least on the drive-side). That said, I'm not changing the axle or the spacing (staying 148, of course) so are the end caps really a concern? And it's only the drive-side end cap in question. I'm a novice mechanic, at best, so I'm probably missing something...
