Does anyone have a good solution for protecting the top tube from the bars/levers from smashing, if they get spun? I have the stem flipped and lowered to put myself in the preferred riding position, but now the shifter can make contact with the top tube.

Anyone have a solution besides flip the stem and stack the spacers under it?

Thanks, J

The only thing I can immediately think of is try wrapping a few layers of cloth handlebar tape around that spit on the top tube. We used to do that to road and track bikes. Unfortunately it's not very aesthetic.
I just ordered an XL Procaliber (because the L was too small), so I might end up needing to flip the stem myself.

This is similar to what I did. I used helicopter tape, then laid down mastic tape, followed by Scotch 33. It’s not pretty, but it makes me feel like I’m taking care of the frame.
