I'm building up a large Transition Vanquish frame and have almost all the parts figured out save for bar and stem combo.

I currently ride a medium Ibis Ripmo with 35mm Thomson stem and 20mm rise Ibis bars. So far I like this combo, although sometimes I think a slightly longer stem might help me get more on the front wheel.

The Large Vanquish has a bit more reach at 465mm vs 446mm on my Ripmo. Because of the longer reach I'm thinking I'll run a slightly shorter stem than one would normally run for a trail hardtail. I'm thinking 40mm stem with 10mm rise bars.

For further reference, I'm 5'10" with relatively long arms.

Help me figure out an ideal setup for ripping trails that lean more on the trail end of the spectrum, but aren't sluggish for more XC-type rides.
