Hello All,

I want to change the color of my coil shock.
Been reading a lot but don't get the answer I am looking for.

I want something that will last, so anyone with experience on this. How well it holds up?

Powder Coating seems the best, but some people say powder coating can damage the spring itself when you curing it.
Spray paint is an option
Plasti dip is another option

Which is the best and will last the longest, so not much chipping, cracking, color fading.

Yes, also interested in opinions. Afraid to get my pricy SLS spring powdercoated if it'll cause damage. Anybody pull this off before?

i don't know to be honest, something low profile and non abrasive i would imagine would work. Spray paint sometimes leaves little ridges and whatnot. I would imagine something that is completely smooth would be ideal, or depending on what colo you want it, you could just sand blast it, and that would get it down to the natural color of the spring. Probably wouldn't stand up to weather too well though

Yeah same here. Don't want to ruin my spring either.

Seems not many has done this.

Update: Spoken to my painter that is custom painting my frame, he suggested me that powder coating is the best for a spring.

So I arranged a meetup with a powder coater this Monday. I will update after that.

Just an update.

I decided to go for powder coating my spring.
It was a standard black before.

Now it looks like this:

Powder Coated shock spring.
