eagle xx1 power meter spacers and washers on PF92 BB

I have an Eagle XX1 Quarq dzero power meter Boost (GXP) I'm shifting between bikes but having some trouble with the spacer arrangements.

BB shell is PF92, have measured it as 92.

Sram PF GXP install instructions suggest only the wavy washer on the drive side for 92 shells. But I tried that and the washer wouldn't compress (could hear it ratting).

I had what looks like a 2.5 spacer which I think came with the power meter, which wasn't on the previous bike (was also pf 92). Once I installed that, the rattle in the wave washer was gone and pre load feels ok.

But this isn't according to instructions (PF GXP BB instructions), so am wondering if it's messed with the chainline or crank centreline. Also wondering if there's some issue with the BB I'm using.

Anyone have any experience with this, or on the regular Eagle XX1 boost cranks, which appear to have the same spindle. (there's a few mm of black spindle on the spider side of the polished bit of the spindle that looks like where the bearing rests)
