Just got a 2018 slayer c30. Need to upgrade rear shock. What are better options to look at? Going for all mountain enduro setup

Like anything high volume with a climb switch. X2, DHX2, DPX2, Super Deluxe, CCDB air/coil, even a CCDBIL air/coil would do fine.

I’m torn between the 2019 Slayer for £1950 or the 2020 version which I think I can pick up in Vancouver for about £2500.

I want to keep a hardcore hardtail for trail centres, XC type stuff so the new bike is for big black and pro trails up in Scotland, bike parks and trips to Whistler/Squamish and the North Shore when I visit family out in Canada.

Test ride them both and see which is a better fit for you

That’s a good idea - In the UK there isn’t that much opportunity to test RM bikes (that I know of).

But when I’m in Canada I know Endless Biking on the North Shore has a few 2020 Slayers in their rental fleet. I’ve used them before and they’re pretty good. If I could find a 2019 Slayer to rent as well then that could be the way forward.

That’s fair. And because they’re completely different bikes they’ll feel, fit and ride completely different. Also the 2020 has both wheel sizes whereas the 2019 is just 27.5

If I buy the new Slayer C70 in Vancouver - will I pay Sales Tax? It's around $7700 Canadian I think which works out at roughly £4,500 but to buy the same bike in England is £6000 which is a huge saving?

Will I get stung with GST and BC tax at the check out?

Everyone pays tax, homie

But if you email the dealer they may cut you a break for being an international buyer

Do you know how much the tax would be roughly? Am I right in thinking it 5% GST + 7% BC Tax?

That’s accurate yes

No provincial sales tax on bikes in bc so 5 percent only

Edit: best of luck finding one in Vancouver though. We had someone drive up to get one of ours today.

How's the sizing on 2017 slayer does it fit small or larger as my son is 5.1-5.2 today he probably should ride a Small, i am worried that by next summer he could possibly jump a few inches I'm eyeing a 2017 slayer M and a 2018 Altitude S which should be better for his size but rear triangle is alloy and more money can't decide ....
