Was trying to decide whether I wanted to keep this old girl or try something new.
Decided on changing up the suspension, giving her some love, and rolling another season or two.

2017 Demo 8 Frame up build. Recently added:

Boxxer WC/ Float X2

New main pivot bearing, hub overhauls etc.
Stoked on how the air suspension livens her up!
Weighs around 37.5/38lbs depending on tires.

Demo 8 Updates - Boxxer WC Fox Float X2 new frame bearings. Weight down to around 38lbs or a little less

Very nice, I loved my Demo8 but got tiresome cracking frames so often.

To their credit specialized warranty was painless and super fast.

Yeah Spesh is always good on that front.

Where were you cracking frames?

Bottom bracket junction, non drive side. Very common demo8 problem.

built a bike during winter

I think this counts as downhill bike. Or that was my intention when buildng the bike at least. I don't have any lift assisted hills nearby so I ended up with Spindrift so I can pedal up better than with a "proper" downhill bike.

Here is my ride for this summer. I replace my '14 Demo 8 II with this a couple of weeks ago.

2019 Trek Session 9.9 RSL 29er, scored on the Pink Bike BuySell forum.

Here is my son's new ride for this summer. He replaced a '12 Giant Glory O

2017 Santa Cruz V10 27.5, scored on the Pinkbike BuySell forum as well.

We are both anxiously awaiting the snow to melt and Northstar, Mammoth, and Snow Summit to open!!

Both bikes looking sick! The session is probably the first bike I've seen that I have liked orange on. Here's my older gen session, took her out the other day and still running strong!
Session 9.9

That's why I was asking. I'd love to see some more photos of the fork, although as someone who has ended up owning a frame that Ali painted I know how difficult it is to show the quality of his work in photos.

Nah it was fully painted, and Ali can do decals if you want, but it’s all painted then under a clear coat Smile
If you don't mind me asking but how much did it cost?

I think the price he asks the public for it is around £250 ish for what I had, although I paid a mates rate which was just labour and materials and it wasn’t that much less

Second that, I've seen a couple of them explode on a rock. That v10 looks pretty dope nevertheless

New bearings and decals. X2 is next. I plan to get it under 35lbs.

I got this frame recently to build up. I stripped it to raw, added new bearings and decals. X2 shock is next to put on it. The plan is to get the complete build under 35lbs. Beer
