Hi all - looking for an experienced wheelbuilder that can build a reliable 27.5 wheelset that can withstand a 330lb rider. I’m 6’5, down from 450lbs, and with that, I ride relatively hard. I was looking Into a DH/Enduro setup just due to the sheer strength, but am open to options.

Need to be non-boost and capable of running up to a 2.6” tire. Thanks in advance for the recommendations.

Without a general location, country, any suggestion might not
be feasible to you.

Sorry about that - I’m located in the US, in Florida.

Some manufacturers websites note weight limits

As an addition perhaps see whats accessible near to you,
a proper bike shop should be able to advise and search there resources
on this.

My local bike shops have built up some of my wheels, took
in the rims and hubs and asked them if it was something there able to do,
they asked my chioce of spoke colour and recommended some DT Swiss spokes,
which they searched size and ordered, 5 day turnaround due to waiting on spokes
being shipped to them, busy seasons can be longer.

First of all, Congrats on the weight loss.
Second, check these guys out. https://wheelbuilder.com/
A buddy of mine had wheels built by them and he loves them. (DT Swiss EX511) He is about 250 lbs and has been running them for a year or so and he said he hasn't had to do anything to them. Not sure of the hubs he went with ( i think they are DT350, but cant be certain)
You will definitely want 32 spoke rims, and don't skimp on the spokes, get the strongest ones available.
I would also recommend installing Cushcore as it will take some of the impact away from your wheels as a bigger guy. I'm 225 and can feel a big difference with my Cushcore's.

Good luck
