I've got an NS suburban bike with a halo djd real wheel (11T sprocket) and we the people 25T chain ring. My half link chain snapped and I tried swapping it for a 9 speed chain but the chain was too thin to fit, would a wider 7 speed chain work or does it have to be a bmx/single speed half link to be wide enough?

You need a bmx chain.

doesn't need to be a singlespeed half link though, you can go full link, just in the wider chain size

Don't bother with anything halfling,be it a complete chain or a single HF,they are garbage and I have seen enough of them snap.

Thanks for the advice, I found a single speed chain that's 1/2" by 1/8" and it works great! Yeah the previous chain was a half link and it was loud and always held onto dirt no matter how many times I degreased it and applied chain lube.

Another issue with half link chains is,they tend to wear down sprockets and drivers much quicker.
