I want to build a good jump for learning new tricks but I don't know what a good radius would be? I was thinking maybe 5 or 6 foot tall on hight so that more beginner riders could work up the courage to try it too.

A smaller radius will shoot you up, a larger will shoot you out.
Beyond what was mentioned about Lee Likes Bikes, lay down a sheet of plywood and draw out different radi and just stand back and see what you think. A lot depends on what you're landing on too. Are you hucking to flat? A more mellow radi might be beter for that? Are you landing on a hill, something with more pop might be better.
It might take you a build or 2 to get it where you want it..
