Buying a used bike that is coming with Crank Brothers Iodine 2 wheels (with Cushcore). My old bike has a DT Swiss XMC 1200 wheelset. I like to ride aggressive trails and I am concerned that the Iodine 2 wheels won't keep up. Plus the XMCs are a way nicer wheel.

So here's my debate: keep the current Iodines on the bike or Swap for the XMCs? Both wheel sets would have to be resplined and require new hubs (new bike is boost, old one isn't boost). Is it worth the price? Are Iodines flashy junk?

Keep your dts and use the MRP better boost adapters. You won’t have to refuse the wheels this way. Contact them and ask which adapter to use but I’m pretty sure the 1200 uses a 180 hub which is the same dimensions as a 240 hub. Can’t speak to the iodine’s but universal consensus is they are indeed “flashy junk” (cue flame baiting for the crank bros wheel lovers).

Thanks! Never heard of the boost adapters.

**Actually, reading they won't work with DTS 240S threaded hubs. So back to my prior dilemma. Some flashy new hubs would be nice, just pricey.**

Try woolftooths boostinator. It will require a re-dish but says it works with the 240s hub
