I live in New England so for most of the winter the trails are either frozen solid or covered in snow. For the snow I have my fat bike.

When the trails are clear they are still frozen solid and I am finding that I am tearing nobs and getting very accelerated wear on my tires when riding in 20F type temps. I have ran Maxxis DHF/DHR and Nobby Nics and all had similar wear.

It seams to me they are wearing at least twice if not 3 times as fast as they would in the summer.

Any suggestions for a tire that can handle cold temps or suggestions for how to get more tire life in the winter?

Vittoria G+ compound remains supple through the cold temps... after 3 months of Mid-Atlantic root, rock, and freeze thaw, 3+ rides a week my 2.6 Agarro remains looking new.

Thanks, I’ll look into those. How do they compare performance wise to maxxis and Schwalbe?
