I have a 2016 Specialized Stumpjumper 27.5 with normal 142 rear end spacing. I am upgrading to 1x11 and ordered a Wolftooth 30T front direct-mount chainring in 3mm offset. I have since realized that I was supposed to order the 6mm offset since I am non-boost.

What will the symptoms be for running 3mm vs 6mm? Is there really much of a difference? It seems so nominal...

It’ll be more cross chained when you are in your easiest gear. It will be more prone to go to a harder gear from your easiest when backpedaling.
