Hello, I come from a BMX background where you can paint your frames and parts over and over. Where in the mountain biking community spraypaint is frowned upon, to say the least.

I have an aluminum trek slash Slash Al frameset basically built up at the slash 9.9 (fox 36, x2, xt groupset) and an entire new bike is out of the question, is it a viable idea to raw the frame because it is chipping away at a dent on the downtube. I have seen many comments on forums saying they look amazing which I agree with.

What is the best way to go around rawing a frame? I know paint stripper will not harm the aluminum itself but what are the issues that come along with raw aluminum bikes? (It is no longer under warranty)

Oxidation. And will void warranty probably because chemicals being used. I love rawed frames do it.

O+
