In town for a few days taking care of my sick pops. Gonna rent a bike and would love a ride to the top of 74 to do the palm canyon ride. Anyone available in exchange for a few beers? Or any advice on how to get up there? Gonna rent an ebike but still dont think im up to smash the whole road and then the ride and then the climb out.

Crazy Bear for a shuttle: https://www.crazybearbikes.com/events/

Not sure if I’m riding there this weekend or doing trail work closer to home.

Hopefully you won’t need but bring small pliers or good tweezers to pull out cactus needles.

Have fun!

Signed up for Sunday, thanks.
Rode about 30k today in the stuff N of PCE. Well, rode 25k and then walked the other 5 after a flat. Do not recommend plastic tire levers and rental bikes. fuhhhhhhq.

I'm hoping to ride there soon. Any other tips? I won't be there on a weekend, so it looks like I'll have to find another shuttle option.

Hey where did you end up renting a bike from? I'm in Palm Springs for a week with the fam next week and thinking it migh be fun to get in a day of riding (just bring my helmet, pads and shoes down I guess).

That shuttle/PCE looks pretty dope although not sure about that big of a ride on a rental bike in terrain I am not familiar with... if I had my own bike/tires/kit maybe.

Big wheel palm springs

wanted to try an e-bike. it was a pretty alright bike. not sure what you’re used to riding.

got a flat somwhere on wildhorse or garsten trails, but couldnt find where. sounded like the valve on the tube, not sure why they dont set up tubeless. anyways, not possible to change a flat with those tires. couldnt get the f*cker off with the plastic tire levers they provided. so that sucks. but then i rode the Palm Canyon Epic with no problems.

hope that helps
