I just got a new bike and brake hose was damaged by the lever in shipping causing brake fluid to leak down all over the forks and the rest of the bike. The pads are definitely contaminated but the shock seems to be leaking as well and I guess it needs to be repaired regardless of what caused it but I'm wondering if brake fluid could cause damage to the seals. they're just using Shimano mineral oil but I'm clueless when it comes to the chemistry of stuff like this.

Mineral oil isn't corrosive. Everything should be fine. Just clean it up, replace the hose and call it good.

As for the fork seals... is the fork new? if its used, then the seals may have just be worn to begin with. I would assume the two events to be unrelated.
