Hi guys, I've bought a fox dpx2 to replace the stock shock on my slash 7. Am I right in thinking that I can reuse the hardware and change the du bushings? Anyone know what size I'd need? And if I'm missing anything. Cheers.

Which bearing pusher puller kit do I need to swap the lower shock mount bearings? Do I need to slide hammer them out or can I push those? It looks like a tight fit. Was looking at the Alt Alt kit.

Here's two spring rate calculator options. These will get you close. Rockshox coils only come in 50lb increments so if you end up pretty in between two rates I'd suggest ordering both and testing them to decide which one you prefer.

Installed a rode the new gen Super Deluxe Ultimate for 2 days over the weekend! (eyelet mount, without hydraulic bottom out) Very happy with the shock! After having a lot of reliability issues with the Thru shaft this season, I'm very glad to be on the generic shock.
I'm running it with: all the positive chamber volume reducers the shock came with. ~25% sag LSC - 1 click from closed (there are 5 positions in total - so this is position 2/5 where 1 is closed and 5 open) HSC - 3 clicks from closed (there are 5 positions in total - so this is position 4/5 where 1 is closed and 5 open) rebound - quite fast (didn't count clicks, but pretty much as fast as possible without feeling the shock top out)
Overall, I already like it better than the thru shaft ever felt over the past 2 seasons. It feels like I have more support and therefore more travel available. Having the HSC adjustment is great. As a lighter rider (155lbs), I often feel like any suspension has HSC too closed for either my weight, riding style and rough terrain.
I was instantly comfortable with the new shock, and even more after having played with the settings a little bit. Would definitely recommend.

This is the shock: RockShox, Super Deluxe Ultimate RC2T, Rear shock, 230x62.5, Shaft Eyelet: Standard, Body Eyelet: Standard, Linear, Linear Reb/LowComp, 320lb Threshold (I prefer going with the linear air can, which I'm under the impression provides better mid stroke support than the bigger negative chamber air can. Then I add tokens for bottom out resistance.)
I don't have info on the adapter kit, I got it from a local (crappy) trek retailer that I recommend everyone to avoid (UBAC in Bromont, Quebec, Canada)

In my opinion, combining the progressive can with HBO is too wild and I don't think it makes sense, so the two options would be: Linear camera + HBO if you want the bike to have a very sweet behavior, but without making stops. , or Progressive Cam No HBO if you want a firmer midsection and feel more agile on jumps, turns ("peraltes"), and fun trails.

has anyone at Trek addressed the quick to fail bottom shock mount bearings? i have a total of 4 rides on my 2022 9.8 and the bottom shock mount bearings are toasted. looks like a spacer issue?
trek replaced my bearings for me . although the shop charged me labour to do this , which was a piss take

Could you tell us how is it working?
It's working great! I would say very similar to the thru shaft with the exception I can adjust (open) HSC, which I couldn't do on the thru shaft. Overall, I feel the shock is more consistent and I get better high speed sharp(roots, square rocks , etc) impact compliance.

That is the shock I got, but I couldn't find the progressive air can so I added positive volume reducers/tokens instead. I'd be curious to try the other can, but don't feel like it's needed at all.

I use a blind bearing puller with a slide hammer for those. Be careful when re-installing them, the little lip where these bearing sit is very thin and can be damaged if you press the bearings a bit to hard.
Has anyone upgraded to 220/200mm rotors f/r on their Slash? If so - what spacers did you need to buy for the upgrade? Thanks!
I am running 220 front and rear. You you want to keep your brake? Depending on the brake manufacturer there are differences in the rotor size. 203mm are common as well.
If you can tell us exactly which rotor size you want to use, we can help you with the adapters. Which fork are you using?
