I work at a Trek bike shop so I'm probably going to get a 2021 Slash regardless, but hey if you guys are reading this thread-- Please offer an XTR version for EP!
HTA = 64 no more pointless mino link just commit to your geo. Flip chips often mess with suspension kinematics to unintentionally. 90% of people sink treks in the low mode anyways.
Size-specific rear centers!
Fox 38 with shorter offset
SWAT box
Please drop the knock block but no chance of that
Options without thru shaft reactive shocks (not a fan) (coil?)
Higher-end alloy frame models please!
Proper chainstay protection
Internally tubed cables
Shimano Drivetrain spec
This is basically the most normal (but perfect) long travel 29 ever... It is basically a trek without all the gimics of their proprietary rear shocks, knock block and mino link. But tbh those are just bullet points for the sales floor IMO.

Keep the mino link. Only run my Slash in low mode at lift service park. Would like to see them bring back an alloy RSL bike with high end components though. I would jump on that.
I loved my Slash for racing but did not really enjoy it for general riding too much, I sold it and got a Remedy and really like that bike for rowdy days. I miss the 29er wheels in some cases and I think a Remedy 29 would be sweet but I just wanted a more playful bike since there is pretty much 0 racing this year
I wish I knew what it was going to be like because I’m so close to pulling the trigger on a 2020 model, but I think the 2021 changes could provide a bike with more of what I’m looking for.
Ideal slash: Ditch knock block 170F/160R 65° HA high 64° HA low 1 degree or .5 degree steeper seat tube angle Most of the geo its well Proven but it should be slightly adapted to suit longer travel and slacker suspension Also bring back fox spec Swat box fs Better cable routing with tighter grommets to prevent rattle Ditch the reaktiv or fix it, thinking specialized brain type but for 165mm

No superboost. Please
I could see them doing all but the first (knock block) and the last (reaktiv), those would be great changes though.
Keep the slash at 150mm with a steeper STA maybe find a way to keep it higher in its travel or raise the BB a touch . Sold mine becuase while it actually climbed great it was to much of a handfull keeping the pedals off the ground.
hopefully upcoming slash: headtube angle : 64,5-64 effectiv seat tube angle: 77-78 bigger seattube insertion depth- longer travels dropper post Fox 38 fork or 36 with grip 2 from2021 shimano 4 piston breaks - saint or xtr/xt 200 mm rotor up front 180 or 200 mm at back shimano drivetrain ( when available shimano axs like wireless drivetrain) or sram axs drivtrain axs seatpost. Full ham rear shock- dhx2 / x2 (2021)with optional lock for the rear from the handlebar weight as near as possible to 13kg( with real world tires not light CX rubber) It should pedal as good as possible. Handlebar stem combo( integrated cockpit) stash pocket in the frame 170 f/ 160r or 170/170 travel remove kockblock( or bypass it for car travle) raise bottom racket for climbing. keep it low for descending

A better scott Ransom ????????????✌????
If you go in this direction you will win not only me as a new customer
my wishlist: - an up-to-date 29" long travel frame - steep STA - 170mm+ dropper post for large frame - Shimano XT/SLX builds - more resistant wheels than the 2018 Line Elite - in-frame storage room - noise reduction protection on chain- & seatstays - more of the epic fade colour options you had on this year's slash
