Hi, I have an XO eagle right now and I hate the loud chain slaps.
I want to change the derraileur for a shimano xt 12 speed and keep my sram xO casette, I have read online that they work fine together even keeping the sram shifter.

I want my Megatower to be quiet, so, will it be a good upgrade to change the derraileur to an XT? short or long cage?

If you have any info please let me know!

I had the 11 speed XT and was awesome

Shimano RD-M8100 has only one cage length configuration--SGS (long cage). This is the derailleur you'd want.

Additionally, Shimano clutches are tuneable and rebuildable, so yes, there is a chance this could beneficial.

Perhaps look into noise dampening chainstay protectors/make your own before spending the money on a new RD?
