Awesome feedback. That kind of handling is probably exactly what I want vs the HT v2, I worry about the V2 being too eunduro here in the east. Our ups tend to be single track not fire roads and our access to downs tends to have narrow single track to get to it. Having lived in Utah and rode in Whistle and Squamish before I get the why the Megatower would be awesome. But those would be a PIA here in the east.

Killer price too! I have dealing with this shop for years so I don't know if I can push them on the price. I probably won't try as it's still a good deal.

I've been on the SCLT for the last 2 years. It's a great bike. Mine came with the DPX2 so I can't comment on the dps. You can add a coil shock to the LT but not the new Hightower if that matters to you. I haven't ridden the new 2020 Hightower, but I've taken the Ripmo out on 2 demos and I don't like the new geo. It does put you in a great position for climbing, but on anything flat there was too much pressure on my hands. I also found the SCLT better going downhill than the Ripmo (just personal opinion). I like the fact that I can ride all of my local trails on the LT (lots of climbing), take it out on long days, and still take it to bike parks.

At this point fate has probably already pushed you one way or the other but if you can get a smoking deal on an HTLT go for it! I've got an 18 HTLT and I've demo'd a 2020 HT so I can weigh in.

2018 HTLT- Love the bike. I demo'd one last year and loved it so much I went and bought one. It pedals good and rips downhill. Haven't really found any weaknesses of the bike yet.

2020 HT- Also love the bike! It feels very similar, I got on it and felt right at home. I'm not a big suspension snob so I didn't notice a huge difference with the new shock layout.

So my vote is get whatever bike is the best deal. Can't go wrong with either one!!

I've got a 2019 HTLT. It's a perfect allrounder. It feels a bit more like a long legged trail bike than an enduro beast. It's done everything from all day epics to park days. My favorite bike so far.

Sorry for the high Jack, local guy has a barley ridden 2019 Hightower LT C R spec for sale for a fair price of $2500. Problem is it’s that powder blue color and while it probably shouldn’t bother me... it does.

On my list to add to my YT Jeffsy 27.5 CF has been a short list of 29er’s.

SC Hightower
Evil following
Or another YT Jeffsy 29

Budgets around 3k, I do my own wrenching so used works for me. What do you guys think?

Again sorry OP, just didn’t want to start another similar thread when this one is going. Rye

I have that color and though it is not my fav, it rides so good I have learned to ignore it. I came close to buying the brown frame color and selling this one, but honestly my bike looks good especially highlighting with bling bits sparsely. The bronze lettering matches the Kashima on the shock perfectly. Going to pull a little of that color in on the headset later.

The money on mine was good enough that I could deal with the color. LOL

I had the same dilemma. A 2020 Hightower CC X01 build for $7,300 or a very lightly used 2019 Hightower LT bike shop rental. I think it had 18 or so rentals on it for just $3,300. Same X01 build and CC frame. I went with the 2019 LT.
I’ve been riding the hell out of it for 1.5 years with zero issues. Upgraded the dpx2 to an X2 and it’s WORLDS better. Also upgraded to Spanks hoops with i9 Hydra hubs and went full on with the blue bling. You can see a pic of it in my profile. Solid bike.
