SRAM XD- 10 sp?

Just bought a set of rims with SRAM XD rear hub. current setup is 1x10. is there any way to keep that setup with the SRAM hub or do i need to step up to 1x11?

I believe e-thirteen has a 10sp XD cassette. Its a 9-42...so your 10sp derailleur will need to be able to take a 42T cog.
