Hi All,

So, 3 weeks ago, I was very fortunate to get the best bike I have ever owned!! I haven't ridden a good bike in years, since a Marin Nail Trail from.the late 90s. There is a small amount of side to side play in the rear wheel and as it is on a skewer I think, does that eliminate the possibility of the wheel not being aligned/in properly on the frame?

I have loosened and tightened the skewer several.times and the play disappears until the back brake is applied?! Can anyone shed any light please on why this is or.could be happening? I really hope this is easily solved as I don't have the tools.or experience to do anything hub related?!

Many thanks!!!

As you may fear I would certainly be checking the hubs as well,
you havn't said what hubs so if ball and cone then maybe need
a grease and tighten up, but you would need to check if this is the case,
remove wheel and qr skewer and check for lateral play.
