So I haven't riden in 20 years. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on my first bike in 20 years. I bought a northrock xc27 from Costco for $399. Seems like it has decent components. I would compare it to Norco storm or giant talon/ATX. My question is. The front fork seems a bit squishy. Should I just stiffen up the preload and run it until it blows or is there a different fork I could slap on it?

The stock fork is a suntour XCT

Does it have an air valve? There is usually a cap you can unscrew on top of one of the fork legs (usually the left one when sat on the bike). If so, try adding more air.

Thanks for the response. I actually returned the bike as it felt a bit small for me anyway with only a medium frame. I just ordered a GT Pantera sport. Comes with a much better fork and components, also a large frame this time. We'll see how it does.
