I’m running tektro Orion brakes with a sram shifter on my Marin, and tektro claims them to be I spec II compatible. Bought a wolftooth shiftmount to hang the shifter on, but the shiftmount won’t fit the lever. Anyone have experience getting a tektro lever to place nice with I spec? Looking it up, the tektro lever has a ridge on one side that shimano levers don’t have, so I assume it’s their fault and not Wolftooth’s. Tektro’s customer service is the worst I’ve ever seen, so I’m hoping to find an answer here

I think it depends on how you think about it.

It looks like to me that the wolftooth adapter has a ridge on the side away from the shifter, that shimano I-spec shifters do not have and that Tektro did not allow for. I bet the adapter would work great with a shimano brake lever, and the Tektro brake would work great with a shimano shifter.

Tektro claims that they sell a matchmaker adaptor for those levers, but I could not find any sign of it on their website, or for sale on the interwebs.

This looks like it would work though:

How are you getting on with the Tektros? i am currently looking at a set, but remember old tektros being as much use as a chocolate teapot!

I have TRP (tektro) Quadiems and they also claim to be ispec-ii compatible. They are not. It's basically false advertising and it frustrates me. None of my ispec-ii stuff works on their wide clamps. Basically, they sell an adapter that sort of looks like ispec-ii (same curved shape) that let's you use matchmaker levers, but it's not the same thing and should not use the ispec name.

Hey sorry this is late but the Orions are great. Plenty of power on 180 rotors. I was hoping to just avoid the Sram problems that everyone has and everything seems good so far, but i can’t imagine Guides die within their first 400 miles either. So far, very pleased

Not sure how to attach pictures, but I bought that mismatch that was linked in the first reply. Got here today, almost a month later. It fits the Orion lever perfectly, for everyone wondering. Thanks!

I got one that has the ridge on the opposite side and I am reluctant to order without knowing. Will this work on Tektro Orion 4P with the GX trigger shifter?
