Looking to upgrade the fork on my ST from the Rhythm 34 to a 36. The stock fork has a 51mm offset but one I'm looking at has a 44mm offset. Is there much difference ride wise between the two? I've been doing some reading and it sounds like the 44 offers more stability at speed however you lose some low speed handling compared to the 51mm.
Has anyone made the switch and is it very noticeable?
For me it dpends on your wheel size, how and what you ride.. 650b my preferance - 44 offset, the 51 offset felt too twitchy to me. on tight switchbacks I was almost overtering and the front snapping inwards. 29er my preferance - 51 offset, the 44 felt super stable downhill, but super slow on anything that wasn't a long berm, depends what you want from it?

Thank you. It's going on a 29er. I am going to give the 44 a try and see how it feels!
I bought a take-off 34 Rhythm 44mm offset cheap and sold the stock 34 Rhythm 51mm offset after comparing the 2. To me the 44mm feels way better in every way. I felt some wheel flop at first but after an hour riding and adjusting my handlebar it went away. Climbs better and corners tons easier. Try flip chip in High setting with it. 44mm on Stumpjumper highly recommended from me.
