Perfect Jekyll and Hyde bike?

So I am looking for a new bike. I need a Jekyll and Hyde bike. Something I can ride for an hour and a half cross country to get to trails. Then shred some gnarly trails and then cycle back at the end of the day. I was thinking of a 29er hardtail. Something like an ibis DV9 or a Santa Cruz Chameleon. Maybe an Orbea Occam. Any help would be appreciated.
