Hope this is in the right forum.

I just bought a tailgate pad for my truck to transport bikes but i have a small tailgate so the bikes don't sit snug where the forks meet the down tube. They move around alot and fall over sidewards

Looks somewhat like this

Wonder if any of you have suggestions for modifying the tailgate (making it higher somehow?) so the bikes sit better and dont fall over. Was thinking of maybe a 4x4 and a pool noodle or something like that.

Thanks!

That is a nice truck! What year is that?
Not sure what you will need to do to make that tailgate higher to safely transport bikes on and off the highway.
You might consider a set of Yakima Outdoorsman. If you pad up the crossbar and let the wheels hang over your tailgate protector might work out.
While the outdoorsman isn't height adjustable, some manufacturers make this style of rack that can be lowered significantly.
That's all I got...

Shuttle Banger

Saw this on my feed and thought about this thread.
Hope you found a solution that works or bought a bigger truck!
