I have recently bought a second hand downhill bike from around 2005 with roxshox boxxer forks and it has the old thru axle with a quick release and wedge type mechanism. Its 20mm in diameter and has a total length of around 200mm if you include the quick release axle. The axle itself is knackered and I could really do with a new one but only realised when it was too late that they're impossible to find. Does anyone have any knowledge about any third party companies making them or do I need a new fork?

Do you just need the quick release part? You can replace it with a standard qr. If it's the light version, pictures would help

I sheared mine off at the skate park and was able to replace it with a parts bin qr for standard 9mm qr. This was on a reba with 20mm maxle light

If it's the 20mm axle portion it might be harder to source.

I couldn't find a 2005 document, but here's the 2006 RockShox Spare Parts Catalog.
