Route ascent way over actual ascent

I recently rode this route https://www.trailforks.com/route/2ndave-dry-fork-lollipop/ which has a stated ascent of 3,457'. However, when I actually rode it my Strava recorded the ascent as 2,247'. This is the second time I have noticed this, with this route https://www.trailforks.com/route/cottonwood-tour/ it's the same. Trailforks lists it as 3,424' of ascent but my recorded ride only shows 2,720'. I know this has been brought up in the past, maybe on the Trailforks website feedback thread, but is there any way to look into this problem? I hate expecting and preparing for 3,000' of ascent when in actuality the route has much less than that.

Seems that is an older route, last summer we improved how we calculate "climb". I edited a single point on the route so the elavation would be re-generated for it. Now it's 1059 feet less.
