Looking to put a coil shock on my RMB altitude and was curious on the size, I have heard a lot of different sizes most being 8.5 by 2.5 and 210 by 55 but a rear shock is a big purchase and I would hate to buy the wrong size. I was planning on putting a fox dhx2 or float x2... any suggestions?

Normal shock size is a 210x55, but if you get offet bushings you can run a 216x63 in Position 1. There's a ton of info on the Altitude and rear shocks etc. in this thread here: https://www.pinkbike.com/forum/listcomments/?threadid=199107&pagenum=42

I run a 8.5x2.5 dhx2 on my 2020 altitude in position 1, it rides way better in all category’s then with the stock air shock, I would highly recommend it. I am not running offset bushings and it works fine

@mikec933, Do you recall what weight spring you're using on your DHX2?

I’m running a 500 lb spring and I’m around 200 pounds i feel like a 475 lb would be ideal for my weight though
