From a chameleon to a 5010, need opinions

I just picked up a 2019 5010. It is the R build and has a 130mm 34 rhythm fork. Rims are 25 internal width.

My previous bike is a 2017 Chameleon that I put a 29r Pike rc3 lowered to 140. It also has the 27.5+ Arc40 rims and 2.80 tires.

I’m keeping the Chameleon around and putting the fox 34 that came on it back on. For what its worth it’s been one of the best bikes I’ve owned. Going to pass it on to my daughter.

Now, the 5010 feels wimpy compared to the chameleon with the 140 pike and big o tires. lol

I want bigger tires for the 5010. What do you run now? I’m riding fast single track, features, jump lines, rocky runs etc. I’m not digging the 2.3 minions. Thinking 2.6 rekons? (I love my 2.8 rekons, I don’t ride slop)

Also the fork axle to crown is as follows;
5010 stock fox 34 (27.5) 130 travel 525 cm
Pike 27.5+/29r 140 travel 550 cm

I’de gain a little travel but also bump the front end up and change the rake to even more slack. Not sure if it would fly.
Opinions? Thoughts?

You can swap the air shaft on the 34 Rhythm to 140m or even 150m for $35. Seems like a cheaper way to get more travel if you wanted.

I have a Carbon Chameleon set up single speed and the new 5010. I used to have the Chameleon built up with 35mm We Are One Coverts and 2.8 Rekons. When I built the 5010 I used those wheels with a Dhf 2.5 wt in front and a DHR 2.4 wt in rear. I switched the Chameleon to a 29er when I built the 5010. They compliment each other pretty well In this set up. Both have 140mm forks.

Fast tires and great grip for the concrete hard dirt. I’m digging the 5010. Still get the old chameleon out. I put the 120 fox back on it. Things just goes. 5010 is a great all rounder too. Gets a little squirly it sharp fast dh but great every where else.
