I have a fatbike with Borealis house hubs and when I coast it sounds like a carnival spinning wheel , it is so distracting I can’t hear the people I’m riding with. Short of replacing the hub , any ideas I was thinking of adding parks grease to the pauls inside the free hub? Any ideas of a quieter hub (197mm/ 12mm axle 6 bolt brake rotor mounts

The thicker the lubricant, the quieter it will be. The danger is choosing something so thick that it slows the movement of the pawls, inhibiting engagement and increasing the chance of damage, especially in cold weather.

You can probably get away with a thick oil or "liquid grease" in the summer, but you'll want something thinner in the winter.

I put Marine grease in my hope hubs. Regular grease only lasted one ride before getting loud again. The marine grease lasts a good few rides longer. Plus water resistant.

I use 75% slick honey, 25% graphite powder in my freehubs. Still thin, but the graphite powder cushions the pawls and quiets things down. I've had no issues riding in temperatures into the low 40's F (~4° C)

I’ve been using this stuff for faster and quieter hubs. Good shit! (Dumonde Tech freehub grease)
