Ok Gang this is something I have wondered about for years now and it seems no one can give me the straight goods
without going off topic.

I have two forks. We will say 2020 factory fox 36 grip 2. both forks are set at 160mm of travel. Say my bike is a 27.5 and Im running 27.5 wheels "not 29 inch" would running a 29er fork change the geo?

basically wondering if the only difference is the axle to wheel arch? Or is there much more going on?

cheers!

ps try to post only if you acutely know. I ton of people just assume.

Cheers and happy riding!!!!

I looked into this when I mulleted my Evil Insurgent.

The fork lowers are about 20mm longer so the axle to crown lengthens that much. In addition the bigger wheel raises the front axle about 19mm or something like that (622-584 divided by 2 for radius).

Although the axle to crown length of 27'' forks is generally longer than 29'' forks, the amount differs a bit from brand to brand. Look up the exact axle to crown length on the manufacturers website.

Fact: if you put a 27.5 wheel into a 29 fork it will still spin hence the bike will still roll! who would have thought
