I’m wondering if anyone has tried to up fork Trek Top Fuel 2020 or 2021 to a 130mm. How did it feel and where there any negatives?
I have a 9.7 2020, it comes with RockShox Reba 120mm and the going gets tough it feels like it’s flexing back and forth before it moves upp and down, so I have been eyeing the Pike in search for more stiffness and more travel.
Pike 130 would be a great choice if you want to slacken it slightly and improve your handling. Checkout this calculator: http://bikegeo.muha.cc/ I have a very similar bike to your's when it comes to travel and geometry and the manufacturer actually fits the 130 Pike on request with stating that the change is very subtle.
The 35mm SID or Fox 34SC would give you a ton more stiffness and keep the 120mm travel and light weight. The Pike 130 is a great fork, but might be a little overkill for the TF, depending on the mission.
