Shortlist -
Salt lake
Colorado Springs
Maybe outskirts of Denver area

Edit: ignore most below this part but leaving attached for just additional info.

Springs vs SLC riding.
- How many months out of the year can I ride?
- how is the race scene and shuttle availability in each?
- drive time to trailheads
- quality of trail and difficulty

Right now SLC is top of the list for qualities of the city itself and things that we are looking for unrelated to riding. Both have major redeeming points with regard to work and family and in all honesty the tie breaker is coming down to access to hobbies and the variety in trails.

Old background information below.
It’s been an interesting year and are finally deciding it’s time to move on. We have been living in Boise and the PNW off and on for the last few years. Our jobs are flexible but do come with strings attached when we try out a new city.

We don’t want to give up the quality of trails that Washington and Oregon offer but are tired of the *minimum* 1hr drive to the closest trailhead. Ride days tend to be monopolized by the drive time and ride, with family and accomplishing other things during the day, it’s often an ultimatum of can we ride or can we get things done.

Goals for what city we research and add to our short list:
- Our families are both in the Midwest and we would like to have better access with shorter flights to visit home
- cost of living a consideration
- good trails close to the edge of town
- enduro style riding with options for both shuttle + lift access would be great if dh/parks are available. Enduro races locally also a plus
- airport access with at minimum some frequency in flights to major airports
-mid size city preferred, sitting in traffic is exhausting
- short and mild winters a big bonus.
