Small or medium frame?

Ive had a small frame all mountain bike before, im about 5’6” but most of the bikes im going after to buy used are medium frame, its hard to come by a small frame bike with what im looking for, would i get away with a medium frame with me being approx 5’6”?

If the bike is older than 2020, most likely you'll be fine on a medium frame. Bikes have grown a lot longer lately so a medium 2-3 years ago may only be just barely larger than a current small.

I can ride both a small or medium but prefer the small and am about 5'6.
