Morning Guys,

I’m looking at getting into mountain biking, mainly trail stuff around Bristol and FOD, with the odd bike park chucked in!

I think I want a Whyte with 130 travel, am I right? I see you can get 170 travel but think that might be overkill for the rides I’m doing?

I’m 6ft2 so I’m guessing and XL is the way to go, there is a XL Whyte T130 Works 2018 model for sale on eBay basically unused with an asking price of £3300 before any haggling!! Was just after people’s honest opinion is it a good bike and what would be a good target price?

Thank you so much ????

If you're doing trails then that's more than enough bike really. I usually ride my 130/120mm travel bike (or even my hardtail) in those locations, and also when I go to the Welsh trail centres, so its definitely suitable.

It's a good bike, but the second hand market can be a little overpriced (imo) due to a shortage of supply at the moment, and all bikes seem to be going for more than I'm willing to spend.
That said from a quick look, a lower spec ali t130 of a similar vintage look at £2-2500ish, so if you can get them down a couple hundred it should be a reasonable price.

Whilst that looks quite good it is still a lot of money particularly if you are just starting out. There will be no warranty and so on. My feeling is that the price is reflecting the current stock situation on new bikes. It may have been great value for the original purchaser but that does not necessarily make it great value second hand.

If you really like the look of it the T-130 and the newer T-140 are both great trail bikes. It all depends how quickly you want it and if you are happy to have no warranty.
