Is Instagram just bad?

Is there anyway to get Instagram to be a lot less blurry? I recently got a hero 9 and uploaded this track to my phone and in gallery or photos or whatever it looks really nice but as soon as I upload it onto Instagram it looks absolutely potato and all the colour goes and it’s all blurry am I do something wrong or is Instagram just annoying? I’m trying to upload in 4K so I’m not sure if that’s the problem.

Yeah, you're right instagram is compressing quality of videos and it looks pretty bad. Stories or posts no matter.

You have 2 ways to fix it. First is shot and post videos from iphone. Their camera app is better optimized exclusively for instagram. Second is to edit videos with third-party apps and use some filters. Personally I use this method, for example https://create.vista.com/create/ Quality would be not such better, compressing still working, but overall look would be better.
