So, after 10 days and 2 years since ordering, the wait is over, they’ve arrived :-)

Your post is worthless without pictures!…..lol

A little jealous.

Still in the boxes for now, I’m still waiting for a frame to be finished for the Maxima’s, the Direttissima’s are going on a 5010 for now.

Nice! Let us know when you get them installed and have a few rides under you!

I own a few Trickstuff brakes, and recently upgraded a bike with Maxima master cylinders (already had Maxima calipers with DRT - Direttissima - levers) and the bump in power and lever feel is noticeable. Wouldn't mind getting a 2nd pair, but the wait time is stupid, and in the German classified of mtb-news people are selling Trickstuff brakes at scalper prices (1200 for DRTs, 1700 for MXA .......)

On another bike I currently run a DRT master cylinder with Cura4 calipers, power is pretty stupidly good, but lever feel is complete cack. Might switch back to full DRT when the uplift season starts in April/May as I don't think I'll get used to it ...

Also tried DRT lever and Magura MT5 calipers, really good power aswell (better than full DRT), but lever feel was also off but not as much as with the Cura4. And on both the Magura and Formula setups, I had the same problem of almost non-existant pad wear adjustment. I had to get the tools out every 2 runs to push the pistons out ...

Had to change the piston in the master cylinder in 2 rear DRT levers, but one was 4 years old with pretty much constant use, and the other had an unknown amount of years of use. So I would say the stock master cylinder pistons last about 3-4 years. Pretty easy to replace, and a good time to inspect the teflon tube in which the piston slides for scores or scratches (in which case if it's damaged, you'll have to check with Trickstuff for a rebuild, and I don't know how much it'll cost you)
