Giant dropper post. Is this normal?

Just started riding my new trance x and noticed the dropper only drops if I unweighted the saddle push button then sit down. If I push the button while sitting nothing happens.

Is this normal with this dropper? Or is something wrong? The dropper on my old bike would drop while weighted. I can probably get used to it just seems odd.

"Some" droppers dont like to pushed at an angle so your sitting on it and push it and nothing happens, but if you slightly push your butt forward it will go down.
On the slash for e.g you have to do this with most droppers (this is more apparent on the bigger frames with longer droppers due to leverage)
