Hitting my little finger on a slab of sandstone I was riding past at a pretty fast clip taught me to always wear gloves. It ripped clean through the glove but a slight abrasion to the skin was all I got.
It might have abraded my skin down near the bone if it hadn’t been for that glove.
Gloves are practical especially in hot/humid climates but without gloves you just look so much cooler, right? Hahaha :p
I switch between both but ultimately wear them most of the time. But I do like the feel of no gloves on nicely worn in grips (until it gets too schwetty).
Helps prevent blisters, keeps me from having to pick gravel out of my hands after a crash, and for a good solid few months of the year it’s to keep my hands from freezing/going numb.
Same as this guy. Same riding. Same place (PNW). Same reasons.
