I curious about hubs The hubs like on my trek makes lots of extra noise as did the hibs on my transition scout, But my Bulls copperhead has hybrid hubs and the hubs on my trek rail are bontrager make a ton of noise.
What Im asking is are certain hub like geared lower or something to that effect? Is there a video anyone is familair with that explains hubs and such.
I just bought a set of raceface carbon wheels for my trek and they have VAULT hubs and I think its time i leanred this. thanks and be easy Im really asking here.

There are several different ways to make the ratchet mechanism for the free hub. That’s what generates the noise, is when the ratchet clicks into place. Each different hub has a unique sound because of how it’s built. Some hubs can be quieted down by using a thicker grease than what comes stock, but it can make the free hub bind if you go too thick.
