Sounds like you're going to be set up with a seriously fast bike for 2022 summer then.

Yep, I can’t wait. Beer I’m planning on running a 40 up front and X2 out back and 27.7 wheels. I think I can drop a few pounds off of the stock build too. We’ll see.

It's gonna be a beast with 40 bolted in the front. Big Grin

This bike has been changed. It is now a Bosch motor with a TBA battery. Expect TBA=bigger than 625. 9/01 announcement date. I expect Bosch will reveal a bigger battery then. With Norco out at 900 WH, the race is on.

Yeah I got the email notification about the changes. The original 725wh battery was a nice large capacity, and it used the same Panasonic cells as Tesla’s, so I’m curious what the new one will be. I just hope it’s not physically larger and or heavier.

The 900watt battery isn’t from Shimano, I would think Bosch would be more concerned with what Shimano is doing rather than a third party battery company.

So here is the new news directly from Pole. I personally can’t wait to get mine!

Introducing the Bosch Smart System

As promised, here’s the big news we were so eager to tell you about but couldn’t - until now!

During the Voima’s creation, e-bike technology was advancing really quickly. Like most developments in the bike industry, nothing ever really stays still for long and we had heard good things about what Bosch had waiting in the wings. Before too long, it became apparent that Bosch was developing a system that offered more. True to the Voima ethos, the Bosch system was the only real contender.

With that in mind, we took the decision to go with an alternative motor and battery system that is brand new, cutting edge, and, most importantly, future proof. Introducing the Bosch Smart System.

⚡ Bosch Performance Line CX drive unit, 750wh Powertube 750, and global service network - A newly refined version of the Bosch Performance Line CX drive unit with a NEW 750wh Powertube 750.
With 85 Nm of torque, the new motor enables powerful acceleration after tight turns and obstacles at a low cadence and facilitates starting on an incline. The motor also provides support with high cadences for fast sprints too.
The NEW PowerTube 750 gets you even further on the trail! With a 20% greater range than the previous PowerTube 625, it's ideal for long and demanding rides.
Along with enormous mileage, a long service life, and reliable handling the lithium-ion battery is also equipped with a battery management system that protects the battery cells from overload.
With service at the forefront of many customers' minds, Bosch also offers a global, professional network of service centers for all of its products.

⚡ The Bosch E-Bike Flow app - The new motor and battery have a proven software application ready to go. The Bosch E-bike Flow App is not only cutting edge now, but it is future proof too.
The E-bike Flow app connects users with their E-bike and is the key to a Connected Biking experience. Compatible with both iOS and Android, users have access to numerous functions, it integrates with other apps such as Apple Health, and synchronizes activity data completely automatically.
With the eBike Flow app, users can now easily receive updates for their eBike with the smart system 'over the air', including innovative features such as theft protection. Whether your phone is in your pocket or attached to the handlebars, the second you start pedaling the smart activity tracking of the E-bike Flow app is activated.

⚡ LED Remote - A fully networked, handlebar-mounted control center that captures your all-important ride information easily. The LEDs are easy to see in sunlight, and the brightness of the display adapts to ambient light meaning that even in changing light conditions you're never dazzled by the display. Selected riding modes are quickly recognised by the indicated respective colour.
The LED Remote connects the Voima to the E-bike Flow app. You can access the all important cycling data such as the duration of the ride or the distance travelled via smartphone and share it with other users. It is also possible to carry out software updates independently.
The LED remote can be individually adjusted to you and in addition to an attractive design, offers optimal ergonomics and intuitive operation. Attached to the handlebar, all buttons can be reached and operated perfectly with your thumb without the need for a separate stem or handlebar mounted display.
If you’re still looking for a little more information, Bosch has created an information pack all about the new Smart System. They have also done a very interesting YouTube video about the system too;

Although we have already told you about the frame changes in our email last week, there’s no harm in going over them again!

⚡ An integrated seat clamp - we always focus on functionality and quality when it comes to our design - it’s the Pole Bicycles way. With our unique ability to design, develop and manufacture in-house, we have designed an integrated seat clamp system that best suits a premium product such as the Voima. No more seat clamp woes!

⚡ Three bottle cage mounts - following in the footsteps of their other CNC’d brother the Stamina, we have managed to integrate enough space for three water bottles on the Voima frame. So whether you need a full three bottles of water on your ride, or two and a tool kit, the Voima gives you the possibilities to choose your way. All bottle mounts are Fidlock compatible also.

⚡ Battery compartment on the underside of the downtube - with a higher capacity battery, the question of how to fit a larger cell into the frame was raised. Although fitting a battery to the topside of the downtube made sense in the beginning for weatherproofing, the new battery design is sufficiently protected from the trail elements on its own. With that in mind and a requirement for more space to include a full range of frame sizes, the Voima now has the battery compartment on the underside of the downtube. Which has other benefits too...

⚡ Potential to use a battery extender - with the space now available on the topside of the downtube, there is not only the potential for three water bottles or tool storage but also the addition of a battery range extender! And why not? More is More after all. With the repositioning of the battery compartment and new and easier cable routing, the location of the charging port has been relocated to near the bottom of the seat tower. This has no impact on the frame design or the functionality over the original placement near the headtube. In fact, we think it looks better in its new location.

⚡ Absolutely NO change to the suspension design - developed around the Sensei suspension system, the Voima's capabilities have not been altered at all. 190mm of agile, efficient and playful travel has not been changed or modified in any way. The Voima was always designed around this concept. The battery and motor, although an integral part of any ebike, was never the single part that made the bike. Suspension performance was always the key when the Voima was developed. As we’ve said before, the Voima has been designed as the truest form of what we believe an e-bike should be - It has been designed and created as an e-bike from the ground up.
