My pedals that came from my trek marlin 5 are starting to get a bit worn (pins worn nearly to the platform, bearings making a sound like a cat being hit on the head with a broken vise grips).

Any suggestions for new flat pedals (preferably under €45 and with steel pins)?

My favourites are Nukeproof Electron pedals which have always been great. All internal bearings, bushings and spindles can be bought separately and cheaply if needed. Lots of colour choices too you're looking for alternatives:-

Lots of similar good quality composite pedals with steel pins available like Race Face Chester's, DMR's, etc for around your price range:-

I have some of those Nukeproofs and also some Kona Wah Wah 2, both are good but I prefer the bigger platform and feel of the Konas. I do a bit more shuffling my foot around trying to find ideal position on the Nukeproofs whereas I plonk my foot on the Konas without thinking and its good. I'm sure it depends on preference and shoes etc though.

Have used the OneUp composites on a mates bike a bit, they're a good value option too but I still prefer the Wah Wah 2.

Ditto on the Kona wah wah pedals.
