Hi all

I am trying to replace my dust seals on my Rockshox XC28 lower forks and have managed to remove them after some effort. However at the bottom there is metal collar. My question is should this be removed as well before inserting new dust seals?

Thanks in advance.

Jim

Don't remove. Looks like that is holding the upper bushing in the lowers.
Rockshox only use dust wipers and foam rings, no oil seals

Thanks Mountain Jew.

A further question is that I found that there are no foam rings in the XC28 forks. However the recommended SRAM service kit does include them with the new dust wipers.

Should I install the foam rings?
