Firm compression lockout issue

I have a 2019 Lyrik RCT3 fork that started having issues. First off, it makes a clicking noise off the top of the stroke during rocky terrain / dropping front of the bike. Second, when compression knob is dialed to firm and the front end of the bike is dropped while stationary, it will make the same clicking noise and the compression knob will dial back to “pedal” mode. So essentially the firm mode is useless.

Damper works fine, rebound works fine, 3 levels of compression(open, pedal, firm). Firm would just never stay “on”. Is there air in the damper system or there is something wrong mechanically inside the damper contros?
