Full disclaimer, I'm fairly new to working on mtb components in general, not sure if I'm dealing with a blown shock here or what. Couldn't find a relevant thread but might've just been searching for the wrong thing

I just got a used 2020 Jeffsy Comp in the last few weeks that has a Marzocchi Bomber RC on it (a rebranded Fox Van RC). After setting the bike up, I noticed that there's about 5mm of very little compression at the beginning of the stroke when loading the shock. After you get past that area of low compression and continue loading it the shock feels fine, but if you let off at all it "resets" so to speak and the low compression zone happens again no matter where you are in the stroke. There aren't any weird noises or oil leakage at all though, so I really don't know what I'm dealing with here. My knowledge of shocks is pretty limited so it could just be blown, but I'm curious if it could be something with the valving. Any help is super appreciated
